What to do with growling dog?

Monday, April 13th, 2009
Rainey asked:

My husband and I recently moved in with some fellow roommate found online. Our initial reunion with them was great especially with your dog friendly. We use to have an alarm system but once they noticed that the dog scraped on all things mobile calculate I 'd fine service only. Now we have moved well inside and things are large unless the dog is not like suddenly my husband. No other domestic animals involved. When he returns home the greats of the journals with the dog he barks loud and constant growl. Our colleague, roommate suggested giving him treats to warm you up but its just done the opposite. Now he growls at him every time he walks in because he 's have the treats. My husband is super angry about this, particularly since we talked on getting fellow quarter as opposed to me getting our own place which can produce, I just want to save money. What should we do?

What is a good medium breed guard dog?

Thursday, January 15th, 2009
Jennifer R asked:

We have a small house with a large fenced in yard, a child of 2 years, and two cats. Although this is our first dog, I have worked in animal care for years and understand what the dog enters property. I also understand that is one thing to work around dogs, and another to actually live with a dog. We want a half breed (30-50 pounds) to be good with kids and cats, and have a good instinct of care. We're not looking for a dog attack, but we do not want a dog that welcome foreigners into our home. We currently have an alarm system and want a dog as a pet for the family. Just feel better with a dog that would help deter intruders. I know that every dog is different, and that the shelter workers know the temperament of individuals, just nice to be informed about features of the breed as well.
